Prepare for your flight

Ease your way through the airport using these helpful tips.

Before you go

  • Make a plan. Airlines recommend arriving at least 90 minutes before your scheduled flight.
  • To ensure you don’t bring anything prohibited on your flight, start packing with empty bags. To find out what items are allowed in your carry-on and checked luggage, visit TSA’s “What Can I Bring?” list.
  • Download your airline’s mobile app. This will allow you to check-in, and stay up-to-date on the latest flight information.
  • If you require assistance in the terminal, plan ahead to book a wheelchair or look into our assistance programs.

When you arrive at the airport

  • If you’re being dropped off… The curbside is a great resource, but if you need assistance bringing in luggage, please ask your ride to park in one of our airport parking lots before they come in. Tickets will be issued for vehicles left unattended for any length of time.
  • If you’re parking on-site… Our airport parking areas are easy in and easy out! We have several parking options.
  • Check-in or go straight to security. If you haven’t already checked in on your airline’s mobile app, be sure to stop by your ticket counter to check-in and drop any luggage that needs checked. If you don’t need to check in or drop luggage, head straight to the security checkpoint.
  • If you have questions, stop at our information desk in the ticketing lobby.

Security screening

  • Know your concourse. We have three concourses at CMH. Each checkpoint opens at 4 a.m. and remains open until the last departing flight for the day.
    • Southwest – Concourse A
    • American, Air Canada, Spirit, or United – Concourse B
    • Alaska, Breeze, Delta, Frontier, or Sun Country – Concourse C
    • If you are flying Allegiant Air, be sure to go to Rickenbacker Airport (LCK).
  • Be prepared for the TSA checkpoint. TSA offers helpful travel and packing tips that can expedite your security checkpoint experience, including tips for traveling with children, medications, and pets.
  • Learn more about expediting your security screening process with TSA PreCheck and CLEAR.

Dine, shop, and relax

  • Looking for comfort? Check out the Escape Lounge, located in Concourse B.
  • Grabbing a bite to eat before your flight? Dine-in or carry-out at one of our airport restaurants or grab & go areas.
  • Need a book or other travel essential? Stop into one of the shops throughout the terminal to grab any last-minute travel needs to make your flight more enjoyable.
